Before joining, we always advise a meet up - this is to get a feel for the hobby and the club before making a committment. If you are satisfied you can proceed by obtaining your, 'UAS Operator Certificate' and and signing up to MACI (Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland). If you are under (16 ) years of age, a parent or guardian can register as the Operator on your behalf.
Note: If intending to fly outside of MACI approved sites, the 'IAA Proof of Online Training Certificate' may also be needed.
Most drone pilots will need a, UAS Operator Certificate. This step (Step 1) is often the most tricky part for new members. An initial sign up to the My-SRS portal is required beforehand. Please also read the latest MACI Guidance for IAA Registration, as they give a detailed description of the process.
*See video below for the initial My-SRS sign up.
Once you have registered as a 'UAS Operator', signed up with MACI through MACI Just-Go and uploaded the 'UAS Operator Certificate' - send us a request to join by choosing our club from the list.
Once joined, you can proceed to pay the MACI membership fee - again through MACI Just-Go
